How to Remove Box Rock Ads Malware (Uninstall Guide)

Box Rock Ads and Box Rock Related Searches show up on webpages when your computer is infected by adware. As the Internet becomes an increasingly important part of our daily lives, both for work and play, it should probably come as no great surprise that as it, and our usage of it, develops and evolves, so do the techniques employed by hackers and fraudsters who exploit our increasing dependence on the Internet to con us out of our money, or even our identities. Because we spend more and more time online it's pretty obvious that cyber criminals will try to monetize their traffic in every possible way. Ad injection is one of many ways to monetize malicious traffic. And that's without even taking those people who like to corrupt data or operating systems purely for their own amusement. Put simply, if you're online, you're open to abuse.

Say what you like about cyber criminals, but for the most part they are extremely good at what they do. They know full well that scamming us, or at least using rather underhand techniques to drive traffic to their websites, is a real money spinner. After all, we might credit ourselves with having too much sense to click on Box Rock Ads and potentially dangerous links – but there are an awful lot of Internet users who don't show quite the same level of restraint.

Box Rock malware is a very real threat that comes in many different forms. From spyware that monitors your Internet usage and can steal your personal information, to Trojan Horses that corrupt your files purely for fun, and from Potentially Unwanted Programs which install annoying toolbars, to adware like Box Rock which can plague us with pop-up adverts and send us to websites we don't want to visit, we all need to be on our guard whenever we're online.

Most people consider Box Rock as the least threatening type of malware but even so, if you have been infected by it you will no doubt want to get rid of it as quickly as possible. After all, as all forms of malware become increasingly sophisticated, there really is no way of knowing what any given program can actually do to you – it's just not worth taking the risk.

Some adware is easier to remove than other types but before you spend time and money taking your laptop to an IT guy, it's a good idea to try and remove it yourself so that your computer is clean as quickly as possible. Here’s how:
  1. Install a known brand of malware removal software.
  2. Run your malware removal software, following any instructions it displays on screen.
  3. The program will highlight the adware program's name once it's finished scanning. Delete the Box Rock adware!
  4. Give your computer a second reboot and, to be on the safe side, run the removal software for a second time.
You should now be Box Rock free, however if you've a particularly nasty strain of it on your PC you might need to follow the steps in the removal guide below.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment down below. Good luck and be safe online!
